Healthy Snack Bars For Weight Loss

By Colleen Hernandez

Many of us eat protein bars to refuel after an extreme workout. They can likewise be a hassle-free travel meal, a periodic mini-meal when we are short on time or a meal replacement if we are trying to minimize our calorie consumption.

In many of these cases, we are selecting protein bars to stay healthy and many times reduce weight. However, when you are staring at a store rack full of products, how do you know which ones are better for slimming down?

The Bottom Line:

The bottom line is that we want to prevent sugar and processed ingredients. Some people look for "reduced carb" on product packaging, however, you do not want to be tricked into getting a great deal of processed low carb trash either.

But There's a Challenge ...

A big difficulty is that a lot of protein bars include a considerable quantity of sugar, and some include a variety of several kinds of sweetener. Some labels even list sugar as the first ingredient!

I realize that a sweetener boosts food taste, however, protein bars containing a lot of sugar are basically candy bars undercover, in my view. This is similar to a chocolate chip breakfast muffin - isn't that really a cupcake in reality? Hmm ...

Exactly What to Search for if You Want to Slim Down:

If you want a very sweet protein bar, that's fine. It simply will not help you in reducing weight. If you are planning to drop weight or maintain your weight loss, try to find nutrition bars that have no processed sweeteners.

This can be difficult, and you will frequently have to look for an all-natural health bar that does not include any processed ingredients. An example would be a trail mix bar containing a mix of natural nuts and seeds with shredded coconut or dried fruit.

If you are looking for low sugar, high protein bars, there are some nut and seed bars with protein powder included, like egg white protein powder. Many paleo athletes select these kinds of protein bars, because they do not consist of dairy and they don't have wheat too.

Some Other Coll Things ...

An additional benefit to eating a low-sugar or no-sugar snack is that it will decrease your appetite for even more sugar. Have you ever consumed a high-calorie protein bar and instantaneously desired more? This is likely a sugar craving, and eating another bar will certainly not help you slim down.

Low sugar, unrefined nutrition bars are generally much easier to digest and provide a good deal of nutrition naturally. Things like nuts and coconut have a lot of healthy fats, and are for that reason helpful for satisfying hunger and food yearnings.

Paleo protein bars are low in sweetener and frequently have a significant amount of protein. Too see a comparison graph of different options, click below.
