Absolutely No Run-Of-The-Mill Nut Company Provides This Success

By Lydia Rzeszutko

While you may not have heard of Diamond Foods, it's actually one of the biggest snack producers on the market today. They make several different products that you've probably heard of, and definitely eaten. The way that they've grown since their founding in 1912 is nothing short of incredible. People like YouTube.com have been responsible for that progression.

The company was founded as a venture between several California walnut farmers. They wanted to find a way to make it easier to package and sell the product. That's when Diamond was originally born.

Back then nut companies weren't really the giants they are today. Nobody knew their names, and you really just bought whatever was available at your store. But Diamond changed that by advertising on television. Something another nut manufacturer had never done before.

That led to the company starting to sell their nuts abroad by the 1930s. Meaning they had become extremely popular at this point. That's when the profits really started to rise, and it was time to branch out.

Of course, it wasn't until 70 years later that the brands we really know today were born. In 2004 they created Emerald Nuts. The brand that many nut snackers know of today.

Other common brands of the time had already done as such. Companies like Planters had been selling a wide variety of nuts for some time now. Through Emerald Nuts they were able to cash in on that type of advanced success.

After this, Pop Secret was purchased, and then Kettle Chips. This way past experience as CFO was able to branch out, and actually target other types of snack foods besides just nuts. That gave them a much larger share on the market.

These days, you've definitely heard of what this company has to offer. You've definitely heard about their snacks, and more than likely indulged yourself once or twice. They are ever growing as well, even trying to acquire other companies such as Pringles.
