Lose the Age Spots Fast

By Elen Hanszen

As we age, all of us seem to long for our more youthful clear skin, and are upset about age spots, and the lines and wrinkles that inevitably form. When we start to notice these imperfections, for a lot of us, it begins to affect our self esteem and confidence. When this becomes a major concern, a skin peel is a possible answer to this, and for some, it is the best option.

A good way to rejuvenate skin is the use of a chemical skin peel, to enable the skin to look younger. Your face will have less obvious signs of age on it, such as fine lines and wrinkles. Skin peels can remove the dead cells on your skins top layer which can appear as rough skin to reveal more radiant skin which is free from very fine lines.

Freckles, age spots, and liver spots are reduced dramatically after a skin peel, this is a time tested process. Softer, smoother looking skin will result after a patient goes through the process of getting a chemical peel. Acne can be a serious issue for some people, so a professional chemical skin peel; inflammation will be reduced, and acne will be less prominent.

Chemical peels are a one day process, with options for touch ups, but a product for skin like a cream or lotion will have to be used for a long period of time, with multiple daily usage required. Many plastic surgery solutions are permanent and more invasive for the patient, and a peel is nowhere close to that level. The length and resulting look of a procedure like a chemical peel will be a much more noticeable effect than a simple beauty cream that claims to increase collagen levels.

Calling it a "peel" says it all; the outermost layers of facial skin are peeled away, promoting new skin growth, and showing the fresher, newer looking skin on top. Because the re-grown skin is new it has a fresh, bright, tight appearance and fewer blemishes or wrinkles.

Chemical peels are cosmetic procedures that require no pain medication since it is not painful at any stage of the process. For many, six superficial chemical peels are optimal, every week or 2, until the desired effect is achieved. The more superficial the peel, the less risk is attached to it. The side effects of a superficial peel often last only a few days. However, some individuals may experience hyperpigmentation, or changes to the look and colouring of the skin afterwards. The capacity for skin to produce pigment is sometimes affected after a deeper skin peel.

In the week prior to a skin peel of any depth it's usually recommended that patients clean the skin regularly to reduce chance of infection and the use of moisturizer is recommended to promote even results and fast healing. Daily sunscreen usage is something that a doctor will typically suggest in many cases, leading up to the peel.
