Whatever it was, got you to this point. Now, it's up to you to prepare yourself for you Botox appointment. Since the treatments are relatively quick and uncomplicated, the best way to prepare for Botox is to inform yourself on what the procedure entails. Knowing what to expect is the best way to insure your comfort and success as you prepare to use Botox to eliminate unsightly wrinkles or for one of its many other uses.

The day of the procedure is very straightforward, and the best way to prepare is solely to know what to expect. Normally, you will be sitting in a reclining, dentist-like chair. Knowing what you are trying to accomplish, the person administering your Botox treatment will likely ask you to contract specific muscles, then he or she will mark the injection locations.

As soon as the Botox injections are administered, you'll likely have some red dots showing in the area of treatment. A BOTOX session will usually cost between $300 and $400 per syringe. Of course, this really depends on the specific treatment you'll receive. In fact, only collagen will normally be priced lower than BOTOX. To maintain results, BOTOX patients will have to pay somewhere in that general range every 4-6 months.

Botox Side Effects

Though very rare, Botox side effects do occur. Usually, they're temporary, but they can sometimes last for several months. Depending on where you received the treatment, the side effects could vary. For patients with frown lines, the most common Botox related side effects include:
