Top Botox Target Areas

By Anka Sanori

Botox injections are widely used for a variety of cosmetic reasons. In the last few years there has been a significant increase in its use with more and more people seeking to change the way they look and shave off years with this simple and quick treatment. The reason for this primarily lies with how quickly the procedure can be performed, how simple the entire process is, the excellent result and the low cost associated with botox.

Botox is most often applied to the facial muscles and skin, and helps them relax, taking away fine lines and wrinkles. There are three main sites that are most commonly injected:

- Forehead wrinkles

- Crow's feet lines around the eyes

- Vertical '11' lines between eyebrows

Forehead wrinkles

These 'frown lines' are one of the most common sites for botox injection. It is natural for frown lines and wrinkles to form here because the forehead muscles are constantly being used and the skin and muscles are constantly under stress. As one of the first signs of aging, it is targeted first. And patients also seem to find forehead lines the most troublesome amongst all facial creases. The treatment does not require anaesthesia; it is simple, quick and effective. Effects can last up to 6 months and repeat injections are usually required to preserve the crease-free look.

Crow's feet lines around the eyes

Due to constant muscle use, fine lines form at the corners of the eyes - these are referred to as crow's feet. As a sign of aging, it is unfortunate yet unavoidable. Botox injections can effectively reduce these lines without giving the skin a stretched appearance, restoring the look that younger, healthier skin appears like. After frown lines, it appears that crow's feet treatment is often sought after as they are very common. Effects can last for a period of up to 6 months following which additional treatments may be required, as is the case with other botox treatments.

Vertical '11' lines

The two lines between the eyebrows that form when frowning are called vertical '11' lines. Botox injections help to smooth them out effectively and reduce the depth of these lines. The procedure takes around 10 to 15 minutes to perform and the results are excellent.

These are the top 3 sites where botox is injected on the face. There are other sites such as chin lifts and botox injections around the mouth that may be performed, but these are a lot rarer.

Conclusion

Botox still remains one of the most preferred treatments when it comes to achieving great cosmetic results that will result in younger looking skin devoid of fine lines and wrinkles.
